Hi My name is Janis Weil and I am happily married with 4 children (including my son-in-law). My struggle with food and weight did not surface until I was an adult and married with children. I had responsibility and stresses and I didn’t know how to handle them, so I buried myself in a bag of candy or something else and it really didn’t matter what it was as long as I was shoving it down. Before I knew it… I had 100 pounds to lose. I tried and tried and I tried to lose that weight with different programs, and they all work for a little a while, but you know the story, you go back to what you think is ‘normal’ eating and all that weight comes back on… plus some. That’s when Lesia and Mind, Body and Soul came into the picture. A friend of mine was coming to MBS and was having good success, so why not me. I reached out to Lesia and started on her food program and fitness right away. Exercising is real hard when you are 100 pounds overweight, but ALL of the trainers were absolutely wonderful in knowing how to modify the exercise and not making you feel bad about yourself. The trainers and women are so encouraging and they challenge you to do things you don’t think you can do. This last year (2017) was a really tough year for me and my family, In February I lost my mom to COPD. The day of her funeral my dad went into the hospital with his battle from Lymphoma and was in and out of the hospital for 4 months until the Lord decided to take him home too. In September, my son ended up in the hospital for 2 weeks with a collapsed lung that took 2 chest tubes plus 2 surgeries to fix. Through that, I have been dealing with a pinched sciatic nerve from a herniated disc and tight piriformis muscle since April. I am not telling you this for you to feel sorry for me. But by God’s grace I am the same weight now as I was a year ago. That is a huge accomplishment. I have lost 110 pounds, and it’s not coming back on. I am so thankful for Lesia and her determination to not let me crash and burn, for not giving up on me when I wanted to give up, for believing in me when I did not believe in myself and for so many other things. That is the type of LOVE you will feel when you come to MBS. If you can relate to my story, I’d love to talk to you and encourage you on your journey. I am so excited to be teaching Pound at MBS… I hope to be able to rock out with you !
